Father in a motorcycle crash.

Posted by Kor-Rune - March 14th, 2009

9:25 PM Thursday. An elderly man, approximately a quarter of an hour before, had exited his vehicle in the middle of a three-lane highway, while it remained in the center lane, cars swerving and turning to avoid it.

A motorcyclist going 60 mph(97 km/h) is approaching the car with absolutely no form of illumination from the stationary automobile. Two cars drive along either side of the man in control of the Harley-Davidson motorcycle, and they as well are presumably also unable to see the car in their line of sight.

The back of a parked vehicle then comes into view of the motorcyclist. His mind captures a snapshot and audio clip of the impact of his bike against the back of the generic car, momentum forcing him directly over the car, sliding violently across the road.

Another mental picture is taken as the 53 year old healthy man regained consciousness. A solemn view of being face-down on cold concrete, everything else seemingly muted, creating a dreadful atmosphere.

He now inside of an ambulance from Parkland hospital, yet again making another solid snapshot in his brain, gathering all he can about his surroundings. He awoke in an intensive care unit in Parkland, with his family and friends at his side, taking turns to visit him due to proper restrictions.

He's in stable condition now with only a fractured left cheekbone and a ruptured spleen. Should need a bit of surgery and gosh.. :(
