etherealwinds responds:

oh runey ya lil cutie, thank you ^_^

Oh god. I hit favorite when you said river you know just how to strike a note with the right chord. Ugh this is so powerful guhhhh

headphoamz responds:

Aww thanks man. Makes me happy :D

Wow, I love your voice! Those harmonies are so spot on, what great feeling and choir! Good luck in ngadm, but you won't need luck with a voice like that. 5/5 and a fave.

headphoamz responds:

Wah, a review from Kor-Rune! I am honored you love my voice. It was really, really fun to make those harmonies - that feeling when they come together as you're singing them is UNBEATABLE!
Thanks so much man, very proud to make your favorites list :)

Uh, perfect. The timbre to your voice is so gorgeous. I love the low register notes at the beginning Your control and your tone is so spot on. How long have you been singing?

The instruments match so well too, very natural and organic. I love the slightly more distant vocals around 2:14, WOW THAT CONTROL. I liked the pause before belong, I thought it did exactly what you wanted.

give me your voice. 5/5 favorite and a follow

etherealwinds responds:

ugh I love you *___*

Thank you! I've never had a singing lesson or used singing as anything but a hobby, but until the age of 16/17, I was REALLY not very good at all. So I guess I could say I've been singing properly for 3 years, but I was making covers of songs on Youtube at the age of 13 haha. I've still got a long way to go with that.

I do have even further to go with the production side of things however. I've only really been using FL Studio for 6 months and before that, I used to make instrumentals acoustically, but the quality wasn't too good. I'm glad you liked it and thank you for following!

You can really work those chords, every note meshes with lots of grace, those changes are fantastic. x.x

I only wish the piano had a bit more warmth in the timbre when the dynamic changes, but goodness it's written so nice. <: please keep making more and good luck in NGADM!

ChronoNomad responds:

Thanks so much, Kor-Rune! Your words are kind and greatly appreciated.

I've got a GIG file piano that has a richly warm and emotional sound, but I'm having a hell of time figuring out just how to use the bloody thing without crashing FL Studio. I feel like I've come a long way since I got the DAW earlier this year, but there's still tons to learn. It makes me really happy to hear that you enjoyed the music, especially since all I have to work with are freebie SoundFonts. I try to make the best out of what I've got, and hopefully I manage to succeed in some small way. That being said, one of these days I'll save enough pennies to raid the vault at East/West! :D

This is fantastic, I love your mixing, that condenser is sweet, and the distortion is very tightly gated, gorgeous sounds. The drums changing at 2.24 is cool, the dynamic is superb. The crescendo at 3.10 with the panned guitar chops is sweet omg.

Solid track again, I'm happy this exists. Good luck in this round!

InYourDreams responds:

Thanks bro!! This, coming from the musician of the year in 2012, sure means a lot to me! :)... I'm glad you liked it. I'm not that happy with it, don't know why... maybe because I spent a lot of time on it and the result doesn't sound like it sounded in my head in the beginning. But I don't hate it either...

Good luck to you, too! It's gonna be a dificult round... you and SoundChris are so f&%king awesome!... I would love to learn how you play your solos and stuff... you are one amazing guitarrist... I need to practice

WOAH This made me bounce in my seat. The bass is bumpin that walking line hard yesss. I love the rest on the drums at 0:40 and 1:25, gives space for everyone to jazz a little. The ending chords are super satisfying, even if it's just a little over 2 minutes.

Good job and sweet direction with this piece, you always know how to pull off something new and neat. 5/5

SoundChris responds:

Thanks Kor-Rune - your review is highly appreciated! First i have listened to your track blue boat and was thinking about creating some really smooth gypsy style jazz piece a la django reinhardt combined with some jazz violin. But the violin didnt sound the way i wanted it to... So i had to change my plans :D After the NGADM i will definitely try out some jazz guitar stuff or something. If you want to we could try out some kind of oscar peterson - django reinhard style duet - i will create the piano and you could bring in your virtuous guitar skills? Would be awesome!

All the best for you bro!

Chris

This is so enchanting, her voice is gorgeous! BlazingDragon did an awesome job on the piano part too, very peaceful. The soundfonts don't sound that bad to me, but I suck at mixing so i dunno for sure, but I like it! I've probably spoiled myself with long tracks, but I wish it were longer. That's probably asking a lot for this kind of quality in two weeks though. FIVE STARS

etherealwinds responds:

That means a lot to me Kor-Rune, you're practically renowned for producing wonderful quality work. I'm so glad that you enjoyed it. I'm blessed to have had Joy and Trevor taking part in this little project. Good luck in Round 2 and thank you for your kind review! :)

That bassline is kickin it. C: Everyone's pretty on the money with the vocals but you eventually went for it which is coo. <:

The ride bell seems a little out of place in the initial verse, and kind of brings out the stock AddictiveDrums kit. Then again, I'm an AddictiveDrums whore and can hear them anywhere, so it might just be me. And ya know.. the stick. Perhaps a rim slap, with that same roominess?

Anyway, awesome atmosphere pretty track. Good luck in the competition!

SkyeWint responds:

Basslines are fun to make. The vocals are just like "y'know what I'm just going to do this. This is important to me, so screw the people who don't like it".

I guess a rim slap might work. I tried it, but it didn't stick out ENOUGH. x.x At least, that was my opinion. I don't think that the sticks are too overly strong personally, so I guess I'm not the best judge. Whatever.

Atmospheres are <3 amg for me. But then, you knew that already. Thanks for the wish of good luck! :D

I like the volume of the tremolo violins, a little subtle but enough to mystify you a bit. :] then again I kinda suck at listening for volume. I love groove and the sax, gets me jazzed.

Keep dat tempo, yyeaah 5/5

acmeDyne responds:

Glad you liked it :) TY
'Dreamyard' is awesome, btw!
